Barrel, Tourist Site, and Simple Scene


Barrel

The barrel was made by creating a cylinder then scaling the middle to make the barrel more rounded. The indents at the top and bottom were made by extruding inwards. The texture was made by painting the object within blender.

Cape Bruny Lighthouse

The model was made by creating a cylinder and scaling down the top face. This makes the cylinder sides slanted towards the top. The face was then extruded, scaled and moved as necessary in order to create the basic shape of the lighthouse. The windows and door were made by extruding inwards. The window and door frames were made by duplicating the edge of the windows/door and extruding it in order to give the frames thickness. The railing was made by creating a single railing post along with three horizontal rails and then using the array modifier in order to duplicate it several times around the lighthouse. The top railing was made by duplicating and scaling the bottom railing and deleting excess railing pieces.

Simple Scene

In order to import the barrel and lighthouse into Unity from Blender, there were a few steps. The models were extracted to an 'FBX' file from blender. They were then placed in the scene. The lighthouse didn't require any additional steps as it is not textured. The barrel does have a texture but it was not showing, so a new material had to be created from the barrel. The texture was then applied to this new material, which in turn applied the texture to the barrel. Additional models were then downloaded from the Unity Asset Store and Turbosquid and imported into the scene. The Asset Store models (the bin and the bench) didn't need to be fixed when importing but the Turbosquid model (the table) was missing textures, this was fixed using the same process as described before. Each object was then appropriately scaled so that they were about the right size relative to each other and positioned to be on the ground.
